  • Q. What thickness' do magnets come in?
    A. Magnets come in a few standard thickness': 6 mil(about 3 pieces of paper) 12 mil (about 6 pieces of paper) 15 mil (about 7 pieces of paper) 20 mil (about half the thickness of a United States Dime or 1/64 of an inch, 30 mil (about three-quarters the thickness of a dime or about 1/32"), 55 mil (about the thickness of a quarter or about 3/64")

    Q. What is the most popular thickness?
    A. The majority of magnets sold are either 15, 20 or 30 mil thick. However the latest trend is 6 mil, which reduces weight and cost for mailing.

    Q. Can Magnets be mailed?
    A. Yes, there are no restrictions on mailing a magnet in the United States.

    Q. How much do you charge for consulting?
    A. Depending on the product. Consulting runs $30.00 per half hour, agreement by e-mail or phone.

    Q. What colors can be put on magnets?

    Q. What type of image can be put on a magnet?
    A. We can take a custom logo, photo, or just about any image and put it on a magnet as well as adding text.

    Q. How long do magnets last?
    A. Magnets can last ten, fifteen years, or longer. For example, I have a magnet on my refrigerator at home that is 20 years old.

    Q. What should one expect to pay for a magnet?
    A. The price of magnets varies on the number of colors you have imprinted, the types of colors, the quantity needed and the timeframe you need them. Go to our catalog and look at the prices to get an idea of what you will be paying.

    Q. Can magnets be added to a postcard for mailing?
    A. Yes. We also offer custom packaging. We have a process available that allows us to take a magnet (or many other three dimensional items) and laminate them to a postcard for mailing.

    Q. Can magnets be included in a mailing at the first class rate for one ounce?
    A. Yes. I recommend using the 6,12 or 15 mil magnet for this and, depending on your paper, you can usually add two sheets in the envelope. The best way to verify the weight of your mailer is to go to your local post office where you will be mailing from with your mailing. Ask them to weigh the mailer and to place a stamp on it. Keep it in a safe place in case there is a problem. Ask us about bulk rate mailing.

    Q. I'm not an artist but I have an idea for a magnet. How can I get this idea onto a magnet
    A. Simply, e-mail or fax us a request for a Custom Quote. Please include the quantity, number of colors, approximate size and shape. We will fax you a quote within 48 hours. We have a talented graphics department that can design your idea.

    A. Our normal turnaround time for stock shapes is 7-10 working days after the artwork and appropriate documents have been approved. If you need the magnets is a shorter amount of time, a rush charge may apply.

    Q. What is meant by the term "over/under" on your order form?
    A. Magnets are produced on a printing press type machine. When they are run the machine normally will not stop exactly on the quantity needed so your order will be within a 10% tolerance.

    Q. Do you supply proofs?
    A. Yes. We will e-mail, fax or mail you a proof before the magnet is scheduled for production. Also, in certain cases, we will recommend that you get an actual proof of the product.

    Q. I want to send my own artwork to you. How do I do it?
    A. We have a section on how to send artwork and what to include in the file. Please refer to our artwork info page. Please review it for complete details but, in general, we take artwork over the Internet and by postal mail.

    Q. Why do the colors on my monitor and printer look different than the color I received on my magnet?
    A. There is a long technical explanation for this. The basic difference is that most monitors and color printers use three colors to make what we see.
